BIO

Higher Grounds is a genre-bending electronic duo composed of Italian-born DJ/producer Fabrizio Parisi and Bulgarian pop innovator Timas.

Fusing Afro House, Tech House, House, and Melodic Techno, the project explores the spiritual edge of the dancefloor—where ancestral rhythms, modern grooves, and cinematic emotion meet.

Each artist brings a distinct voice. Fabrizio, a classically trained pianist and drummer with deep roots in Afro and melodic electronic music, has topped charts across Europe and the Middle East, with global radio support and seven singles featured on MTV. Timas, known from The Voice of Bulgaria, adds a magnetic vocal presence shaped by pop, folklore, and socially driven songwriting that often addresses themes like identity, healing, and transformation.

Their debut single as Higher Grounds, The Ghosts Behind, is an Afro House track driven by tribal percussion, pulsing basslines, and haunting vocal layers. Inspired by the documentary Whose Song Is This? by Adela Peeva, the track draws from a melody that transcends borders—shared by more than 20 cultures from Albania to Bangladesh, and once reimagined in Boney M’s Rasputin. Parisi and Timas pay tribute to this global legacy by stripping away the lyrics, allowing space for each listener to hear it in their own language. The track has received early support from Don Diablo and Richie Hawtin and continues to build momentum in the Afro House scene.

Higher Grounds focuses on building a sound that carries emotional weight, strong identity, and lasting impact—designed for late-night sets, deep listeners, and communities in movement.
